Everything Is Coming Alive and It Is Truly a Miraculous Wonder to Experience
By Candi Miller
Spring is here, Franklies!
Okay, it’s sporadicly here in northern Indiana. We live day by day here in the Great Lakes region. One day we are near 70° and a day later we drop down to the 30s and get some lake-effect snow.
I can’t wait to open the windows and bask in the fresh air pouring through and see the curtains billow from the breeze.
The evening air holds a small bite of chill, but smells of earthy delight and the promise of consistently pleasant weather on the horizon. Morning coffee on the porch, becomes a reunion of sweet serenades with the celebratory birds. Even the rainy days feel more magical, as it seems to paint every blade of grass green. Plants begin to pop through the ground and trees start to bud. Everything is coming alive and it is truly a miraculous wonder to experience.
While I adore the arrival of the warm April sun, I absolutely love a grey moody day, when I can stroll around our property and take stock of my flower gardens and dream up more ideas. It is the satisfying reconnection with the land after long months apart. We share quiet moments together, under the blanket-fort of clouds, in deep appreciation for the rebirth of a new season and what we hope to accomplish.
Spring has such a robust energy and it wakes up all my senses. There could be a multitude of things weighing me down, but troubles seem to melt away as each day grows longer and life springs forth around me.
When I think about the significance of Easter and the resurrection of Jesus Christ being in the season of spring, I do not find it ironic at all that God would have his son brought back to life, as all living things come back to life around us. A reminder to believers, that hope is not lost. We are a blessed people, because we were given the ultimate gift; forgiveness and new beginnings.
There is so much to look forward to as the season ripens. The long dormant days of winter are left behind and so begins evenings of dinner on the patio with family and friends. Outdoor projects will resume and long meandering walks bring peace and contentment.
Spring is here! Spring is here! Enjoy it to its fullest!
With Love,
