This month, we welcome first-time contributors to the Bulletin, esteemed writers Brett Townsend and Amber Ping, as well as Quite Frankly friend, Mollee Rucker. The ever-popular J Gulinello also returns with more of his nutritional wisdom. With Father’s Day on the horizon, we observe the holiday with memories and prayer. And we look ahead to all of our wonderful plans for the show that are still to come. We are thrilled to share more about the exciting Quite Frankly event that’s scheduled for later this year. Dave, Cousin Sheri, Lauren, Aurora & Frank enjoy the view from the top of Cadillac Mountain. Behind the ScenesThis past Memorial Day weekend was exhausting, good fun. It began in Bar Harbor, Maine, with Lauren, Aurora, and my cousins, Sheri and Dave. We took the extended tour of Acadia National Park and rode to the top of Cadillac Mountain; we ate well, went antiquing, and drank plenty of coffee. It was unusually cold and a little rainy up there, and many of the locals we spoke to apologized to us for the weather as if they had something to do with it. The rain was a perfect reason for us all to watch some movies at night, and brew even more coffee. |

Seven and a half hours and 450 miles melted away with very little delay on Saturday the 25th, but I only had a little while to get myself settled before my brother Anthony and I took the next day to watch Metallica play at Lincoln Financial in Philadelphia. We enjoyed the show, left early enough to beat the traffic, and traded jokes and conspiracy theories the whole smooth ride back to New York. |

The next day was Memorial Day, and with it came a hot sun, as well family and old friends to pass the time. I also got into a ridiculous online dispute with actor Lillo Brancato (over a well-intentioned booking), but other than that, we set a great tone for the last work week of May, and the official beginning of summer BBQ season. |
|
|
|
Book Club returns in June with The Adventures of Tom Sawyer; new and returning guests are popping up on the broadcast calendar, and feverish work is being done behind the scenes to plan for the Quite Frankly event announced for this September. And though there’s plenty to be excited for in a creative/professional sense, I am also looking forward to my fifth Father’s Day. Every time Aurora walks into the room, it seems something has changed about her; she is incredibly kind, funny, intelligent and just a pleasure to be around. I love hanging out with her, and she makes me swell up with pride. In that respect, every day is Father’s Day for me, but even these silly little Hallmark holidays become vital tools for marking the swift passage of time, and hopefully serve as a reminder for us all to slow things down, make another pot of coffee, and enjoy. -Frank |
